About Jamie

Hey there!  My name is Jamie Austin.  I'm so glad you've stopped by to check out my little blog.  Here are a few things you might want to know about me...and possibly a few things you'll wish you didn't know. ;-)

• First and foremost, I'm OBSESSED with planning parties.  Did I make that clear enough?  Actually, obsessed probably isn't a strong enough word... Is there a word that means more than obsessed?  Use that one, it's more accurate.
• I do believe that you can have a great party or event on a small budget.  That being said, when planning my own parties, I almost always spend too much.  I seem to feel the need to incorporate every idea that I have for a party.  I never want to leave anything out.  I'm working on that.... My husband says I have to stop spending all our money on parties. :-(
• When I started this blog, I didn't really think it would last.  I didn't think I could be witty, charming, interesting...all the things I feel like a blogger should be.  Now, (and I'm totally not trying to brag here)  I'm kind of proud of myself.  Do I feel like I need improvement?  ABSOLUTELY!!!  But, I've done a lot more than I thought I could.
• I have two kids, a 9 year old son and a 13 year old daughter (Lord help us!) and a husband who is my best friend.
• I buy an unsweetened iced tea and an apple fritter every morning.  See, I told you there'd be stuff you didn't care to know.
• I have a little OCD problem.  It really comes out when I'm trying to set up a party.
• I've decided you're probably getting tired of reading about me, so I'm going to wrap this up.

One last thing.  A short list of what I hope to improve about this little blog of mine.

• I hope to post more often.  I know I don't write often enough.
• I want to include more DIY party crafts and décor.
• I want to start staying on budget so that I can show you guys that having a nice party doesn't mean spending your bill money for the month. (And yes, I have been guilty of this)
